The two-day program is designed to be an agent of franchise reform and an intensive orientation to the many challenges to the franchising community in this decade. The meeting also provides a platform for the celebration of a new class of AAFD Accredited Franchisors and other distinguished recipients of the AAFD's Total Quality Franchising Awards. This year's program promises a lively forum for attendees to engage in an important dialogue regarding the future directions of franchising in general, and to empower the AAFD as a vehicle for change and franchisee empowerment. Attendees will leave Nashville with powerful strategies and new tools to protect and enhance their franchise businesses. Day 1: The AAFD Fair Franchising Standards Committee meets in open session to debate proposed standards regarding the impact of the Internet and e-commerce on the franchising community. This is the first public meeting of the Standards Committee, and attendees are invited to participate and experience how the AAFD's Fair Franchising Standards are shaping the franchising culture, providing meaningful marketplace solutions to important issues in franchising. Day 2: We are pleased to present a special AAFD Trade Association Council round table forum in which franchise owners from various Chapters provide insights into significant issues of relevance in your business.
Other Highlights. The 6th Annual Market Power Trade Show will increase awareness of the ever-expanding buying power attached to AAFD membership. Saturday night, May 5th, the AAFD's Annual Awards Banquet will honor distinguished members of the franchising community with the presentation of the Total Quality Franchising Awards for 2001. This is the AAFD's first visit to Nashville, one of the more popular convention destinations, at the Sheraton Music City Hotel, May 4-6, 2001.
